Village Police Department

The Village Police Department comprises 14 part-time officers with two part-time sergeants. The Village Mayor is chief of police. The police have regularly assigned patrol and duties coordinated by one of the sergeants in control. The village police also perform town services under a municipal agreement with the town. Additionally, the police perform contractual assignments for the school as uniformed officers. The charter is to serve and protect the public at large as first responder in most cases. Police can be contacted by dialing 911 or by dialing (845) 876-8181. Dialing 911 you will get immediate response 24/7. The response will be from whomever is closest and most available to your request, whether it be local, sheriff or state. All local police are certifiably trained and able to handle incidents in a professional manner.
